Service 04
Water Resources & Hydraulics
Hydrology and hydraulic modelling that put a defensible number on the design flow.
Introduction
What this service covers
Most drainage and river works in Nigeria are sized by convention. B-CIJVAL sizes them by analysis, deriving design flows from catchment hydrology and testing the proposed section against a hydraulic model before it is built.
We carry out catchment delineation, rainfall-runoff analysis, flood frequency estimation and both steady and unsteady hydraulic modelling, producing water surface profiles, velocity distributions and inundation extents that justify every dimension on the drawing.
Our Process
Investigation → Modelling → Design → Construction → Monitoring
- 01
Investigation
Catchment delineation, rainfall records, land use and site reconnaissance.
- 02
Modelling
Rainfall-runoff modelling, flood frequency analysis and hydraulic simulation.
- 03
Design
Channel sections, structures, scour protection and freeboard determination.
- 04
Construction
Setting out, excavation, structures and protection works.
- 05
Monitoring
Post-construction performance review and maintenance regime.
